Going to CPAC

by

Woot! Erick Erickson and RedState, a nationally known conservative website, are sponsoring the bloggers lounge at this weekend’s CPAC gathering. It’s probably the largest conservative conference of the year, held in DC every February. A couple of weeks ago, they called for applications from bloggers. They specifically looked for conservative, independent bloggers (ie: not part of someone’s DC staff or another media outlet). Fitting the bill – and knowing CPAC is a BIG DEAL, I applied. I was accepted and today, have been fundraising to get myself there. If you want to help, just let me know! You can make a PayPal donation using my email address – hollyonthehill@yahoo.com.
I leave Wednesday afternoon and once again, Holly on the Hill will get to blog from THE Hill (or close to it). I am looking forward to hearing from conservative big wigs like Rep. Michele Bachmann, Glenn Beck, Andrew Breitbart, Sen. Jim DeMint, Gov. Tim Pawlenty, Rep. Mike Pence, Hon. Mitt Romney, Hon. Marco Rubio and our very own Rep. Jason Chaffetz. All of my liberal readers, you may just want to take the weekend off from reading. All of my conservative readers, stay tuned for some (hopefully) good blogging. And tweeting – please follow me @hollyonthehill.

Note to Utah politicians: Please don’t do anything wild, crazy or controversial on Thursday or Friday. Unless you legalize monkeys.

Are you kidding?! I wouldn’t miss your first hand accounts of Bachmann’s lunatic ramblings for a second! :)

Congrats on getting the opportunity to go.

Congrats on going back. This is also my 1st CPAC and I’m excited. I heard the Governor is having a reception for all the people from Utah who will be back there, have you heard that?

  3. hollyonthehill Says:

Thank you both. :-) I had not heard that, Matt. I’ll try to find out more – and will you let me know what you find out?

  4. Matt Barber Says:

Absolutely. I look forward to officially introducing myself, we sat in on a few meetings together when I served on the UCRP Executive committee.

Rep. Bachmann recently claimed that President Bush added only “400 some-odd billion dollars” to the National Debt. If you get a chance, ask if that’s her final answer…
