Today as we honor Dr Martin Luther King, I came across this video clip of Carly Fleischmann. Carly has autism and is non-verbal but she broke free thanks to a computer. Check out this video as you think about what it means to be “Free at last”.
Carly also has a blog and a Twitter feed. Check them out.

I agree. It is a very touching story. My thoughts on the day to honor Dr. King is the core of his message that “all men (and women) are created equal”, and that Utah needs step up and support equality for its gay and lesbian citizens and couples. Like Carly in the story they too should be granted the freedom to be who they are without discrimination.

Thanks for advocating for Special Needs. I just recently posted about her as well on my WordPress blog Notes From A Special Needs Teacher. Keep posting.

JBT: the reason UTAH is in such good condition is that we the people make decisions on things that need to be done. not to the whimsical “WANTS” of special groups like gays that infringe on the right to LIFE liberty and persuit of happiness of the MAJORITY of its citizens. So why dont you MOVE to a place that has the EQUALITY you want? you certainly dont seem to be happy here and most of us would not mind if you and your Ilk moved to California. We all even may take up a donation to help you GET OuT OF UTAH!
