Facebook a CIA conspiracy

Watch this very important video from The Onion.

(It’s not serious, btw – The Onion is satire…..)

Pretty funny stuff – and I mean both “funny ha ha” and “funny where are the Christmas presents”.

As one who is trained in comedy from my theatre days, all great satire and humor comes from a foundation of truth. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t work.

The fact is, people do post very personal and confidential information on Facebook as if it were protected. They post conversations they would never have publicly. Young women have been stalked and even raped because they are so naive in posting so much information about themselves.

So a word of caution here: Yes, Facebook can be — and is — used for “conspiratorial” purposes, and it is an excellent communicator and source of information for both friends…and if you’re not careful online, the not-so-friendly.

This is hilarious. It is sad that you actually have to place a disclaimer on posts like this as “satire.” I have found that there are some people who are hard-wired not to comprehend satire, sarcasm or irony. Watch, you will get someone who will condemn Zuckerberg for being a tool of the CIA. For them I want to inform that I have it on good authority that Facebook is right now building a 500,000 sf data processing complex in Langley, Virginia.
