Democrats ban babies from convention

by

The DNC made it clear last week that babies would not be allowed on the convention floor. The party that doesn’t think you need ID to vote says everyone – including nursing babies – must be credentialed to go to the DNC convention.

Gloria Steinhem had some strong words:

“Women are the key to a Democratic victory, and sometimes, children are the key to women. It’s both right and smart for the Democratic Convention to behave as if children exist.”

Several chapters of the National Organization for Women also had pointed comments,: including this one from NOW Hollywood President Lindsey Horvath:

“The DNC requires children and babies to have a credential to enter the convention, and then denies these credential requests from moms. The DNC credentialing process is being used as a tool to prevent mothers from participating at the convention and is nothing short of discriminatory

Pacific Shore NOW President Zoe Nicholson said:

“This is the year for the Democratic leadership to demonstrate comprehensive support of women, ending this outdated practice and to state publicly that it supports true family values.”

Sounds like a war on women – and babies.

The real war on women is a GOP platform that refuses to acknowledge there might be a single solitary situation that could justify an abortion, a candidate who boasts of heavy reductions to the budget which would include foodstamps and WIC, and republicans who stood in the way of the passage of the Lily Ledbetter law. Its not superficial stuff like you mention.

I know it is hard to imagine here in “LDS Land”, but there are actually places where adults take care of adult business that don’t lend themselves to screaming babies and children running amok as are typically found at Sacrament Meetings and Chuck E. Cheese.

I honestly wonder just how many women (of either party) are dumb enough to go to a major national convention and not leave their young children with a relative or competent child care provider so they can be free to participate fully and do the job they were sent there to do.

The current “leader” of the Democrat Party would be Barack H. Obama, if previous convention was followed. Next step in this logical trail is to look at his votes in the Illinois Senate and US Senate. If you are a fetus, this fellow is not your friend. A baby or young child is a fetus that made it out alive. DNC is not comfortable with signs of young life and this position is so extreme that even leaders of NAGs oppose it. Way to go, Gloria. BTW, NAG or National Association of Gals was coined by Rush Limbaugh back in his Sacramento days.

A woman’s right to control her own body is included under the right to privacy under the Constitution of the United States of America. This was affirmed in Roe v Wade in 1973. This is the law. Those who agree with this law are not pro abortion, but believe that it is a woman’s personal and private right to choose what takes place inside her own body. The extremist position of the Republican Party platform would have the government dictate that every woman who becomes pregnant as a result of rape must carry her rapist’s child to term. This even goes well beyond the conservative position of the LDS Church. A true “small government” does not extend into a woman’s vagina or womb.

There are a few people commenting here that absolutely have no idea what the Republican party believes about abortion. There are times, rape, incest, or life/health of the mother when abortion is deemed appropriate by most conservative Republicans. There are a few that see NO place for rape, but that is not the majority of the party. Get your facts straight.

That’s absolutely false. Prove it. Put up or shut up.
